D.H. Griffin was selected as the turnkey contractor for the redevelopment of the Grounds at Concord in Concord, North Carolina. This 3.5 million square foot manufacturing facility was formerly the home of Phillip Morris, but now is slated for the development and construction of facilities for a variety of advanced manufacturing and distribution companies. D.H. Griffin completed the environmental abatement, demolition, as well as the site work for this large project right outside of Charlotte, NC.
Some of the elements that made this project complex were the deep basements, large amount of concrete that needed to be crushed on site for LEEDs credits, as well as the height of some sections of the structure. D.H . Griffin utilized their advanced fleet of equipment, including some of the largest excavators available in the world. Just at this location, they had over 40 machines working at one time. Their high reach long arms allow them to complete demolition activities safely and successfully, all while protecting their team members and surrounding areas.
