D.H. Griffin's project at the Dan River Mills textile plant is an example of providing turnkey services for clients in demolition, environmental remediation, and site work. The project, which was begun in 2021 and completed January of 2023, involved the environmental remediation and demolition of the largest textile plant in the world, which had been the largest employer of Danville for years.
Caesar Casino's new 48-acre site—which will house its $450 million casino when it opens in 2024- will stand on the former textile site and include some of the hallmark structures that were carefully preserved by the demolition team. One of the most impressive aspects of the project was the amount of material that was recycled. D.H. Griffin crushed and recycled over 280,000 tons of concrete and 8,000 tons of steel/metal.
