D.H. Griffin was selected to complete the abatement and demolition of Unit # 7 at the Sam O. Purdom Generating Plant outside of Tallahassee, Florida. The work included both structural and selective demolition and was in close proximity to the new Unit #8 combined cycle facility. Our work included demolition of the Purdom Generating Station's Unit #7 Boiler, 180' tall smoke stack, and some associated powerhouse roof tanks and piping. A stairwell had to be carefully and methodically separated to maintain access to the remaining powerhouse structure. In addition, D.H.
