Demolition of Roy E. Hansel Power Plant

Demolition and dismantlement of the Roy E. Hansel Power Plant for the City of Kissimmee/Kissimmee Utility Authority. Work consisted of dismantlement of the Power House building, demolition of the package boiler, dismantlement of two (2) 30MW Steam Turbines and 120 MW CT Unit and Generators. Included footings, foundations and site remediation.

DHGW returned to the site in 2013 under a separate contract to demolish the old power buildings and perform additional site remediation.

DHGW returned to the site in 2016 as a subcontractor to demolish the substation, footers and foundation.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

  • Dismantled (2) 30 MW Turbines
  • Dismantled 120MW CT Unit
  • Soil remediation and site restoration for the entire site.
