Cinergy Field Implosive Demolition

On December 29, 2002, D. H. Griffin Wrecking Co., Inc. (DHG) imploded the Cinergy Field baseball stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Formerly known as Riverfront Stadium, the 32–year old structure was brought down in 37 seconds utilizing 1,287 lbs of explosives. O'Rourke Wrecking Co., the the demolition contractor on the project, hired D.H. Griffin as the implosion contractor. The implosion of Cinergy Field brought down more than 150,000 tons of concrete, steel beams, iron pipes and reinforcing bars much of which will be recycled.
