D.H. Griffin was awarded the contract to match-mark and dismantle this coal fired power house, including coal handling equipment, four hanging boilers, four bag houses, two (2) - 40 MW turbine generators and all structural steel from this power generating facility once used by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco to power their cigarette making operations in nearby Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In addition to dismantling, DHG provided roof removal, demolition of approximately 60,000 SF of administrative buildings, coal buildings, cooling towers and (2) 250; stacks, as well as associated equipment pads, footings and foundation removal. Plant dismantled for Duke Energy International and shipped to Guatemala for future use.
